A. It is a similar application offering similar features. They are just packaged differently.

A. yes, for basic features

A.oovoo has to be downloaded and skype has to be downloaded, mebeam and PalBee are web-based.

A. ooVoo Allows one minute video messages.

Q. why would you want to type your chat, not speak?

A. You do have to resister if you want to create a message, not to receive one.

Q. so all you need is the cam, the mic and be registered?

A. That is it. If you think you would use it at all I would purchase a headset.

A. I can record a message and then copy the link to the site.

Q.will you send it to me so I can see it on the other end?

A. yes.

Q. can it cross applications, skype to oovoo or oovoo to skype?

A. Nope. You have to have either Skype or ooVoo on your system. You can not run them both at the same time. Only one application at a time can occupy your camera.

Q. what about cost?

A. oovoo - base model is free, extra effects and more people is $10 a month
