My initial thoughts on my project was to do something very specific that would help me in the classroom. I am planning on using video conferencing to get subject matter experts in the classroom for little to no money. I thought the prefect idea would be to produce a how-to-video on how to use Holland College's own video conferencing room. The more I looked into it, I realized that the room is very hardware driven. This could be practical when talking to other educational institutes or large corporations... but that may not work for the average individual. That is when i turned my attention to the wonderful world of free video conferencing online. I have used iChat in the past and had heard of skype but never used it. So my new direction is to study three or four free video conferencing applications and compare quality, usability, and features. This way the class can have the information on had to decide what tool would best suite their own purposes.

For my presentation I intend to give a brief overview of how I came to select my topic. I will then show a short video  and show a sample chat with ooVoo.
