Day 8 Wednesday
I think today was a great day. As we move forward we become more interested and we have learned to filter faster in some areas and of course miss a few points on others. It is good to have a scribe keep notes so we can reflect more at quieter times. I will need some time out after this rush, to go back, reflect, explore and interact more at quieter times.
In terms of technology and this jump start/intense immersion I have an anxiety on how I will maintain my familiarity and learning so as to continue to experiment and move forward into the concept as it evolves. In other words how might we work smarter having the technology work for us versus us working for the technology.
Also spoke with the youngest of our newly formed writers group and he was ecstatic in the direction our project was taking us out to. I am doing a demo next week for him. It is all good and I am encouraged in my need for learning and applying.
Today too was bonus in hearing about Kim's subject: Dasher for her special needs requirements. What a great strategy to create text without a keyboard. I can think of 3-4 areas within health that this holds potential for (pending legal ,ethics, policy.etc etc considerations)e.g.occupational and physical therapy, neurological conditions, and trauma patients. It offers 'hope'
Barry's screen casting too held an edge -SDP Bridge. The demo and video were so uniquely different from many roles.I also appreciated viewing the video Barry made-how creature and quite an adventurous leap for him, Kudos's. Nice to know -cam studio video is Free and user friendly.
Also was intrigued by the filtering yahoo Pipes.
Also Dave's-tidbits and tips ~ F11 key feature is great.

Good Job Kim...
The fact that Kim presented something so new and amazing that no one had even fathomed was great. Then to see that you can already envision 3-4 areas within the health care system, that is the power of community learning at play ;0)
Great reflection...
