reflection day 2
Another day of fast and furious learning. The review was a good idea as it gave us a refresher on what we covered yesterday. We worked on the traing manuals as a group . This was very educational and showed how if you write it down when you create something it is there for you and all others top use FOR EVER.......... It is nice there was no pressure to get it right the first time and the entire site appears to be a work in progress. next we discussed blogging which i still can't get my head around it's popularity but that may change by the end of the course. Lastly was the group work on setting up a rubric for grading the course. The hardest part was the topics we will be graded on are extrememly subjective as to if you have made progress or not. It is difficult to hammer these down . Maybe a night sleep will make it all crystal clear.

Hello
I like the idea of the review and group work. It is amazing how much faster you can learn when you are a member of a group rather than on your own. I think we are putting the pressure on ourselves rather than Dave exerting pressure on us to succeed. We are usually harder on ourselves than someone else would be.
blogging
Like Donnie and Sandy, I'm wrestling with the blogging thing.
1. Is it thinking aloud to an audience, or is it a discussion forum? So far, this appears to be a discussion forum.
2. I recognize the benefit when it is used by a group that is geographically scattered.
3. Is it really useful within a group that sees each other every day? i.e. Teachers and their students.

better after a night's sleep
It does seem that there is no pressure on us to finish things or get it right the first time but we do seem to put a lot of pressure on ourselves regardless. I feel more clear about things this morning and having read the other posts, realize that we are all in the same spot with this stuff that is so new to us. Baby steps is all it will take, no panic. You are right about the fast and furious learning Donnie, we'd be bored otherwise and likely less able to handle the oppressive temperature in the room.
I don't get the blogging thing either, I wonder if it's only for extroverts? If so, there must be a way that we as teachers can ensure that all of our students are engaged and excited about it and not just doing it because they have to.
A work in progress
The invitation to continue to add to our initial work was liberating. The idea of having a work in progress is new for me. I like it.
