Day one WOW!!!
Wow! what am I in for. Today has been a learning experience in just learning to pay attention while trying to follow the instructions . My head just feels so full. I have to practice concentrating.
I thought one thing that Dave said very interesting. He made the simple comment that all the answers to the questions we may have will be in the information on the page. What I found I was doing, was trying to go too fast . I was afraid of getting behind the rest of the class that I wasn't reading the information. That's the thing that I am always telling my students in class, That they need to read and follow insructions.
What I expect from this course? I'm not sure. If I was asked that question yesterday I would have just said that I would be finding new ways to present information to my class electronically. Now that I have spent three and a half hours in this class I feel that this course is going to go much deeper than that. I am going to have to stretch myself out of my comfort zone. I have always used the excuse, to not have to learn new things by saying, that as long as my husband knew how to do it I was okay. This course I hope will help me to become more comfortable and more independent that I will be the one trying new things.
I want to become more organized

Wow
Like you I found it too fast for my stage of knowledge of this subject.I like to scan &peek at the different topics before I start to Learn & Produce, and in times past, just scanned the new subject & moved on. For example moving pictures, cut and paste etc.I realize many of my classmates have been producing such simple items for a long time. But according to Dave we will all be able to Learn & Produce .Here's Hoping. But already it seems we have all sampled ,even in day one, some thing(s) that are new to most of us.
Wow

Glad to hear I am not the only one, with the WOW. But like you I must get out of my comfortable zone and move into the new millenium. As an instructor, I see the new "techy" student coming into my classroom. They strive on all of this technology and expect their classroom to be interactive and challenging. I need to stay current and be able to offer my program using the technology to keep them focused and keen. With this course I hope to gain a few more ways of intergrating the course material in ways that will intrique and inspire their learning.
Concentration buddy
I am with you on the focus bit. My head is full. I wanted to have time to write everything down in color code. I'm in trouble but hopeful!

Dave’s comment about finding answers to questions from the information that is already on the page, really stuck with me also. Too often I throw in the towel and say I don’t understand. I ask for help, maybe before I take the time to try and figure out what is needed to be understood. I think it is going to be very important, to remember to take the extra time and to see if you can understand and figure out what your questioning in class.
It is funny, every day I try and get students I work with to keep digging for answers, however, when it is me, I believe I simple should be able to be given the answer or read the answer out of a book. Searching through trial and error, will allow for a greater understanding of what is being questioned in the first place. Making me understand the process, will encourage me to see all the dimensions of the questions that I hold.
I think it is important to remember that everyone has a different learning base. Some people are walking into the class with a larger amount of technology knowledge. Building on the knowledge that each of us is starting with is most important. We are not all going to be in the same place, but each other’s experience will help us develop our own depth of knowledge.
