reflections from an overloaded brain
Wow! My head is swimming from information overload. I was feeling fairly confident when we first started out as I was able to remember directions etc but as the afternoon wore on my mind couldn't hold onto the information being spoken. For those of you who took Audrey Penner's couse recently - the digital immigrant is still learning the language of tecnology.
It is comforting to hear other people ask the question, "what we do next? or What did he say?" This helps me pick up on what I missed - and to know i am not alone.
There is so much to hold onto. Being a kinistetic learner it is important to be able to do what Dave is showing us right away. It is great to be in the lab so I can practice what we need to do. Sometimes he is moving on so quickly I feel I am 3 or 4 steps behind where everyone else seems to be. I noticed that I do somethings quite by accident and when asked how I got to where we need to be I have no idea.
I cannot think of anything else to write that may sound remotely intelligent so I am signing out now.

Overload
Kim
It sounds like you are not the only one that expereinced a rush of new material and trying to make connections. As mentioned we were abit overwhelmed in Audrey's class but I believe we were successful in working with SAM through group work and practicing this new technology. Asalways new schooling can create anixety and apprehension but again hopefully through group (looking on another's computer) we will be successful once more.
I think that today's class
I think that today's class was quite overwhelming for everyone... however in a good way I think. I'm glad that the 'homework' part of the class seems light because it'll give us more time to 'play' with the new technology in order to become effective users. I believe the'sharing atmosphere' which Dave created today will be a fantastic part of thie next two weeks.
Have fun!

learning the new stuff
I was a bit lost myself today. I was equipped with colored markers so that I could write descriptive and clear notes to access the new information I would receive. I use red for what I do or the button I push and blue for what Mr. Computer (see the respect/fear I have) requires. I did't get my markers out today. I felt more like a groundhog, peeping up for a looksee and then down again to burrow into my computer to find the trail.
