Leslie's Last Day reflections
Good times were had by all. As the first day of classes started, right into storming, then forming, then norming. We didn't start out forming, we were thrown right into things. We have all come to the conclusion in this course that sometimes being thrown into things is the best way to learn. I will remember this at work. It's a real life scenario. Lots of times we are thrown into things or encounter unknown waters, sometimes our first reaction is not the best. As we have seen throughout our two weeks, nothing is ever as hard as it seems, once we immerse ourselves in it and break things down into comprehensible chunks the pieces all start coming together. What will I take from this course, a sense of achievement and a different perspective on technology. That it is really a realm that we can all tap into. In our workplaces we all mulitask and live in a world of doing. Technology is supposed to be a friendly tool that we can utilize to help us organize ourselves better and accommplish more. I get it! Of course there is alot I still need polishing up on, but I am enlightened. As Dave mentioned, each community of practice has its own language and we need to understand the language before we can understand the content. I think we are on our way and are more comfortable to explore.
I leave the class with new connections and community networks, there is that community word that keeps popping up. Along with the curriculum I left with alot of great advice and direction from fellow learners. I have a much better sense of virtual communities for social and professional networking. We so often hear that people don't communicate any more, well looks like we communicate with many more and it is creating alot of great work. It is like the collective consciousness we hear about, technology is helping us to tap into it and to help manifest it exponentially.
I can not even write down all of the tricks, skills and tools that I will take away from this course. I don't imagine I will use all of them, but I will many. I plan to share these resources with coworkers and friends. I can't forget to mention all of the memberships. Do people list these under professional memberships on their resumes, because we would look good!!!
Thanks Dave and fellow learners for all of your support. Have a great summer.

To boldly go..
You have a way with words. I'm agree that we are "more comfortable to explore." You said, "It is like the collective consciousness we hear about, technology is helping us to tap into it and to help manifest it exponentially." Wow! I'm saving that quote for later. I'll be sure to reference you. My view has changed in two weeks. It is a community, not a lone person at a keyboard.
