Exploration of personal technology literacy
My first reflection is the heart pounting fear of starting a new course. Having a deep learning in one area of technology does not preclude having any learning in another area of technology. The exploration into what we already know was interesting. There are many areas that are in everyday usage. I try to remember that there was a first time to word, excel etc. Now, I don't think about it. They are tools that work for me, not the other way around.
The environment is important. I walked into a stuffy hot room and thought, "Oh no, I can't think in here!" Then the computers didn't connect which then resulted in a move to another room. This was a bumpy start. It did generate my first lesson of the day. Check your technology out to make sure everything is working before you start. Our instructor had a back-up plan for such an occurance. Having a paper project was lesson two.
I did enjoy exploring the course site and look forward to learning the wide variety of sites that may be helpful in the classroom.

Your so Zen
I'm very excited to be in the same class as you. If there is anything that I can help you with regarding your project, just let me know.
I was also very impressed with the "Plan B" Dave had in place. As a future instructor who hasn't been in a classroom for 6 years, I feel like I'm studying him and his techniques as well as the content.
I agree that the exploration
I agree that the exploration within this course will be fun and adventurous.
BTW, when I read your comments I thought to myself: I hope this person included 'writing' as a skill. I am very jealous!

I agree, I thought our
I agree, I thought our instructor handled things well. It must have been very discouraging to have plan after plan not work out. He really kept his composure and just moved on to something else. When he didn't get worked up it helped us to stay calm and accept what we couldn't change . It will be interesting to see where tomorrow takes us. I'm looking forward to learning new tools.
